Locations

The first possible location I visited was located across from the college. It’d been previously used for another project. It was the first area that came to mind when thinking of locations. Me and a fellow classmate went up there to see how it looked. Since we had last been there it had become even more over grown. The place was littered with broken bottles, cans and even some needles. I immediately knew that I couldn’t use this place. While it looked good, I wasn’t prepared to film in an area that was a health and safety nightmare. There is a field directly next to the alleyway that I am considering using. It’s currently quite wet and muddy but I’m sure in the summer when we film we can move some of the glass that’s no doubt lurking there.

The amount of health and safety risks at this location were just too numerous to film here. There’s the needles, the glass, the amount of rubble and rubbish lying around and god knows what else.  It’d be a terrible idea to film here because of all this. It looks good and would definitely suit the project but I’m not going to use it.

The second possible location is the Leeds – Liverpool canal. It runs right through Saltaire (Where I live) and has a bridge that I can see being used for the murder scene. From this I could then picture the killers dragging the corpse all over the canal and it is close to where they take the remains.

The final possible location, we came across by accident. It’s located directly below the bridge outside Asda in foster square, which we passed on our way to the post officer delivery office. It’s closer to the college and we get a lot more room than under the Canal Bridge. The only thing I can see causing problems is the trains. Directly behind the location is the train station which could cause some continuity issues and some noise issues.

The other location I will use will be this previously mentioned area. After all the glass and such has been moved I think it’ll be a great area to use for the finale.
